I made good progress this week on my new historical novel, HOLD BACK THE SUN. This story follows two newly activated USN Lieutenants, one a gunnery officer on a 4-stacker destroyer and the other a floatplane pilot on the cruiser U.S.S. MARBLEHEAD. The time is the opening months of the Pacific War in the Philippines and the Dutch East Indies. The heroic battles of the U.S. Asiatic Fleet against overwhelming odds are chronicled. The story has naval surface combat, aerial combat, land battles, intrigue, and romance with English and Dutch women. Target date for publication is October 2012.
